Columbia died April 23 at the Devereux Nursing Residence in Marblehead thanks to troubles of COVID-19. She was 97.

She beloved to feed all the animals, including the Koi fish in their front property pond. “She fed the pet dogs and cats their very own meals, but would also feed them at the desk,” Merina reported with a giggle.

A year ago, Columbia moved into a nursing household.

“Her smile designed other people smile even when life seemed sad,” Ginger reported. “She experienced an interior energy that absolutely everyone admired, and all will never ignore her power of character.”
